This is a continuation of my 4-part "The History of Reddit Raiders" series. To read Part 1 click here. To read Part 2 click here.
OK lets move on to Part 3: The Transition to Three Star Wars. We ended part 2 of this series with Veryous' famous post.
Very: I wrote that post because of what I said in first paragraph basically.
FIRST PARAGRAPH:
I think while a lot of us realize this, a lot of us do not, 2 star attacks in war don't win the war. If you don't realize this, our last war with Reddit Mike should've amplified this tremendously. We were so close, but just couldn't reign it in. We were down by 8 or so stars with 25 or so attacks left. Granted they got a few more stars, but we came up short by 5. The entire reason we lost is because we couldn't get that third and absolutely crucial star. When we did this right was the rematch with Reddit Hydrogen. We won by 10 and that was because of the third star being added. We had so many 3 stars in the beginning it was amazing. Offense wins wars, not defensive in Clash. So many clans as a whole can't secure that third star and for those that can, it separates and elevates them. A failed attack in war clans is anything less than 3 stars on a th9 or lower, 2 stars on a th10.
How hard was the transition to three stars?
Very: Before that we started to require attacks in the war, once every 12 hours but $hit was still bad. People had no idea about strategy. What seemed logical to me and others never crossed some people’s minds. So while a few of us carried the rest it never was a huge mentality. People somehow needed to be unified with a single goal. Also we needed to stop people that were ranked at the bottom failing at the top.
Yes we lost a lot of people. Funk even left. Said it wasn’t his thing. Alicia is gay I remember arguing with. I even called him out as an elders saying you need to represent not refuse publicly.
There were a lot of dead weight, friend of mark elders we needed to purge. Good people but purely farmers.
Eric: Merse made it look so easy
Very were you a self-taught beast raider? Cause I have all of you to teach me… but who did you have back in the day... other than YouTube?
Very: I think we all learned a lot from each other. We would all bounce a lot from each other and learned. Gaz, Dakota, and Curly were the best ones and first. Think I learned from them more than anyone in the beginning. Pretty much youtube, hulk, and talking. One would try something, not work, so then another would try it, get a little farther, keep going. A truly team effort.
We gotta get innovative again in here!!
Very: People do it and we see it but others may not. Look at Koozy when he joined. Dude was not that good, but now he’s helping people and catching things in their raids. Same with the Vortex guys. And Eric is always coming up with some crazy scientific $hit with bases, pathing, attacks that I’m like whoa, wtf, how’d he think of that
Eric gives me lady boners
Very: gives me man boners
Cooper: Pretty sure Eric said once all troops are down he can determine faster than the game can if its going to be a three star. Sometimes I wish I could go back and be th9 during clan wars... rushed to th10 when I had maxed my defenses but had purple walls
Reality: I gave up.
Very: come back, more fun
Funk: I will relive the th9 days soon
Lets talk about the events leading up to ReAlz stepping down and Frank stepping up
Very: oh this was a scary time for Matt and I I think the most. The th10 grind was hitting us all, curly, reality, re probably most of all. Matt and I knew for a few weeks and were hoping re would slip back into the game, alas it didn’t happen
Reality: Funk took his break
Funk: my break worked though
Very: Haha it did work for Funk, no one else. Reality went to Zero to help them for a while
Reality: my base is still max loot. I just get sniped. Btw you can find me at 2600 cups :D
Funk because I’m a real man, a true American hero… I conquered the th10 blues. So have others but we wont mention them
Reality: Dehn left before that. After a few bad wars
Very: He was the first ten huh?
Reality: yes
Very: We had a farming competition in one season. He did like 250 mil of GG. Dude was insane. Damn good raider in farm and war
Funk: Dehn is a f***ing legend
Very: Bruno is kinda of like him, but with better English. He did some truly cool shit.
Funk: the original 6 star woe veteran
Very: yeah Dehn and I would converse a lot about attacks, hogs, strats, etc. he was great
Those TH10s that stuck it out… why do you think that is?
Very: we're dumber
Funk: we're more strong willed and just better men all around
Very: I enjoy pushing myself
Let's get back to the change in leadership
Funk: Matt and Veryous both wanted nothing with leader lol. Neither did I
Re: Tbc, the reason I left was not because of th10. What bugged me most was 99% destruction attacks were a whole one star away from 3 stars.
Funk: clash should have a star system like that dominations game. 5 stars
Re: Yes I would much prefer 5 stars
Funk: the 1 star is only if you kill th in a certain amount of time, pretty cool mechanic
